For us, 2015 is only ending now.
You know how Chinese New Year is only on February 8th?
And in Ethiopia today is the 14th day, of the 5th month of 2008? (not kidding #JulianCalendar)
Well, since Richard & I worked over Christmas & New Year, we’re taking our end of year holiday this week & starting 2016 on February 1st. This is, of course, also a handy way of doing it, if you need a reset button for all those 2016 resolutions you already tripped over on January 2nd!
When we return I’ll have some new challenges to look forward to, since we wrapped #TopStories at Netwerk24 yesterday (and I got the best farewell gift.. Ever!).
In 2016 I’ll take up a new role with MyPlayers as their Marketing Manager – with the aim of helping you get to know your favourite rugby player and all the interesting things they do when they’re NOT playing, a little better.
Rugby season also kicks off on February 1st with Varsity Cup. ALSO I’ll work on a very exciting new English language rugby show for SuperSport as well. I can’t say too much about this yet, but get excited if you’re into rugby. It’s awesome news!
And finally, I’ll be writing again, as an in-depth personality profile writer for Beeld’s Saturday edition. Maak seker jy is ‘n intekenaar en maak reg vir ‘n reeks boeiende stories oor die mees bekende, omstrede en onbekende-maar-mees-inspirerende mense in SA.
In order to catch our breath, charge our batteries and (in my experience this is the essence of any Club Med holiday) eat our body weight in French cuisine, we’re jetting off to MAURITIUS today for the last week of peace and sunshine before 2016 strikes! *happy dance*
This trip is also the commencement of my 30th birthday celebrations (which will conclude in 2 weeks) AND our fifth wedding anniversary! Hence the hashtag #BirthdayVersary
Is it as pretty as it looks in the brochure? I’ll make sure to keep you posted!
Adieu, au revoir x
